The image of God in the form of a man

A while back I was asked by a friend how did I cope with my disability..  our conversation is paraphrased as follows:

Bill: How do you do it man, how is it everyday I see you your in a good mood knowing that you have to wake up in a wheelchair everyday

Me: You know how I cope? Let me ask you a question. “In the book of Revelation what did Jesus come back as?”

Bill: what do you mean?

Me: how did the Apostle John see Him coming back?

Bill: A soldier?! (rescuer)

Me: Exactly! now imagine if events in the book of Revelation didn’t, have to happen, what do you think Jesus would come back as?

Bill: A candy cane( I used candy canes and raindows to symbolize peace–and in truth I can’t remember what his answer really was)

Me: Yes! Why?

Bill: Because thats what will be needed?

Me: Right! do you see this pew beside me? it’s not empty. In it is a man with nail holes through His hands, a whip scarred back, a bloody scap matted crown of thorns on His head and braces on His feet(He rides a wheelchair beside me to class everyday); and bill He did it for me and if He can take it SO SHALL I

Me: thats what I need your image of God will look different because you need something different but mark my words HE IS WHAT WILL BE AND IS WHAT IS NEEDED; thats how I cope.

We sat in silence for several moments lost in thought and then Bill said “Thank You; that what I needed to hear” I explained to Bill that it’s not me he should be thanking but Our soverign Father above; and we should continue in that practice willingly eveyday.. I realize that many who read this may not be believer and by this posting it is not my intention to make it so.. I simply ask that you read this with a closed mind and open heart as to what YOU NEED as my Father and yours(if you believe He is or not) will provide to you what IS needed
